A Baxter man faces multiple charges following a high-speed chase in Putnam County.
Warrants filed Tuesday to the Putnam County Justice Center state the incident occurred June 7.
18-year-old Christopher Dunn was traveling north on Cookeville Boatdock Road swerving in his lane, almost hitting southbound Putnam County Sergeant Patrick Short.
According to the police report, Dunn reached speeds of 100 mph, swerving between lanes during the pursuit. The chase ended when one of Dunn’s tires disintegrated.
Cookeville Police found14 grams of marijuana and a digital scale in Dunn’s vehicle. Dunn’s charges include reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dunn was arrested and placed on $4,000 bond, but has since been released. His court date is set for July 2.
