Cookeville Woman Injured in Burgess Falls Road Crash

A 62-year-old Cookeville woman suffered injuries during a two-vehicle crash in Putnam County Tuesday.

Officials said a medical helicopter airlifted Cynthia Mantle to Nashville’s Skyline Medical Center. Her condition and injuries are currently unknown.

The crash happened on Burgess Falls Road just before noon.

According to The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Mantle was driving a northbound 2016 Red Toyota Corolla when she crossed the center line and struck a trailer connected to a southbound Dodge Ram.

Mantle came to a stop in the middle of the roadway, while the trailer detached from the truck and stopped upside down along the road.

Mantle was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.
