Funeral services for Mrs. Doreen Terry Blair, age 62 of Livingston, will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10 AM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, May 31, 2018 starting at 5 PM until 8 PM. Mrs. Doreen Terry Blair age 62 of Livingston, TN passed away from this life at her residence on Friday evening, May 25, 2018. Mrs. Doreen Rocca Terry Blair was born in Hawthorne, California on April 4, 1956 to Alford Rocca and the late Lillian Lucca Rocca. Doreen was a medical assistant for many years.
A gathering of family and friends for Mr. Bobbie J. Arms, age 79, of Sparta will be held on Friday, June 1st from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Arms passed from this life on Tuesday night, May 29, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Clay County, on October 11, 1938, to the late Caleb and Alene Stover Arms. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. Bobbie Arms leaves his sons, Kenny Arms of Rickman, Michael Arms of Baxter, and Phil Arms and wife Cristina of Baxter; grandchildren, Wyatt, Wade, C.J. , Caleb, Jamie, and Justin Arms; great grandchildren, Reece, Kayden, and Kylie; brothers, Jimmy Arms of Livingston and Larry Arms of Livingston; and sisters, Barbara Meadows of Rickman, Betty Meadows of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Sue Boles of Livingston; special friend Martha Scott; and many other close friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arms is preceded in death by his wife Claudine and sister Judy Arms.
Funeral services for Mr. Donnie Williams, age 69 of the Ravenscroft Community of White County, will be conducted 11:00am Friday, June 1, 2018 at Ravenscroft Church of God with burial in the Williams Family Cemetery. Donnie passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Donnie was born June 10, 1948 in Sparta to the late William “Bill” & Rosie Meadows Williams. Donnie was a well known business owner in Sparta with D & W Trucking, Sparta Bail Bonds and Sparta Auto Sales. He enjoyed farming and raising horses. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son Ronnie Williams; brother Buddy Williams; sisters Ruby Johnson, Sue Boles and Linda Goodwin. Surviving family members include his wife of 48 years Jane Hall Williams; Children: Kathy Hunt, Charlie Williams, Teresa Akogun, Jennifer Williams; Grandchildren: Caleb Hunt, Ashton Williams, Alexis Williams, Christopher Williams, Micheal Williams, Dillon Williams, Amber Usrey, Devin Watkins, Elishia Usrey, Jasmine Usrey, Erica Denton and Danica Denton; Great-grandchildren: Christopher Williams, Gracie Williams, Jamesus Usrey, Kathren Williams, Haley Denton and Landon Denton; Brothers: Tommy Williams & Johnny Williams; Sisters: Allene Boles, Mary Howell, Willene Gunter and Cindy Rogers. The family will receive friends after 4:00pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Kenneth Peters will officiate.
Celebration of Life for Phillip Duane Roberts, 61 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of McClellan Avenue Church of Christ. Phillip passed away, Sunday,May 27, 2018 at his home in Cookeville. Phillip was born Wednesday, September 5, 1956 in Cookeville. Phillip is survived by his Mother and Father, Mary and Charlie “King” Wester. He has five sisters: Terry Long of Dayton, Ohio, Felecia “Lee” Roberts of Baltimore, Maryland, Jackie and Eddie Shockley of Sparta, Tennessee, Karen and Richard English of Louisville, Kentucky, Dawn and George Hollins of Rineyville, Kentucky and Sister-in-law, Sherry Wester of Cookeville. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews/nieces and cousins. Included as family is long-time friend, Roger Hayes. Phillip was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Wester, Jr. and niece Nakia Irwin. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 12:00 PM until time of services at McClellan Avenue Church of Christ.

Tressa passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at her home. Born Friday, July 10, 1964 in Smithville, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Jo Ann Howell Price. She was an animal lover, especially horses and dogs. She is survived by her husband, Steve West of Sparta; daughter, Stephanie West of Sparta; grandson, Ace West of Sparta; brother, Billy Price (Melissa) of Sparta; and nephew, Cody Price of Sparta. The family will receive friends from 12pm until time of the service at the funeral home.
Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Evelyn Bynum, 89 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville, TN. Mrs. Bynum’s family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Bynum died Wednesday afternoon, May 30th at Bailey Manor in Cookeville.
Funeral services for Mr. Lynn L. Swanson, age 96, of Livingston will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, at 1 P.M. from the chapel at Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Don Maxson will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Swanson passed from this life on Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018 from the Overton County Health & Rehab Center. He was born Boone County, Nebraska on June 7, 1921, to the late John Edwick and Beta Nordgren Swanson. He was a member of Monroe Christian Church. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a plumber and electrician who loved woodowrking, travelling, and socializing at the Monroe Community Center. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his loving family, children , grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Mr. Swanson leaves his daughters, Barbara Keisling of Monroe, Judy Dillon and husband Terry of Livingston, and Brenda Warren and husband Bill of Livingston; brother, Dolend Swanson of David City, Nebraska; sister, Ruth Pribnow of Albion, Nebaska; grandchildren, Jeff Keisling, Debbie Roddy, Jennifer McDonald, Chris Dillon, Pat Warren, and Jay Warren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Swanson was preceeded in death by his loving wife Clara Auberson Swanson; brothers Clarence Swanson, Chester Swanson, Arvid Swanson, Otto Swanson, Deland Swanson, Donald Swanson; and sisters, Helen Sivers, Myrtle Panek, Norma Conever, and Donna Swanson. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12 until time of services at 2 p.m., at the First Christian Church. Ms. Teresa Anne Brazzell Ragland passed from this life on Friday afternoon, May 25, 2018, from the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 12, 1950 to the late Harry McGinnis & Margaret Reeder Brazzell. Ms. Ragland graduated from Seaford High School in Seaford Delaware. She held a degree in Fine Arts from Middle Tennessee State University and a Masters in Education from Tennessee Tech University. She was an artist and published illustrator by profession and creative in all things. She was musical and appreciated musical talent in others. Ms. Ragland had a tender heart for all animals and gave a safe home to many. She was a loving and loved mother who cherished her home and garden.
A memorial service for Douglas Charles Stewart, 76 of Sparta, will be held at 7 pm on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Friendship United Methodist Church in Cookeville. Douglas passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born Wednesday, May 13, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elmer and Virginia Bull Stewart. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran and a Mason. He enjoyed fishing and working at the Dance Academy. He loved every dancer there. He is survived by his wife, Judith Stewart of Sparta; son, Douglas Stewart Jr. (Terrie) of Glade Creek; daughter, Carrie Stewart Edmonds (Nathan) of Sparta; grandchildren, Emma Stewart, Grace Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Karlee Edmonds, and Ally Edmonds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Ann. The family will welcome friends from 4-7pm at the church.

Mr. Hirsbrunner passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time. Graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. EST. Wednesday at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
A Celebration of Life of Nancy Clark Taliferro Owen, age 74, of Cookeville, and formerly of Sun City West, Arizona, will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 8th at Heritage Pointe Senior Living, 1030 S. Maple, Cookeville. Mrs. Owen passed away Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Nancy was born in Davenport, Iowa on April 3, 1944, the only child of the late Paul Clark and the late Marjorie Hostetler Clark Taliferro. Nancy was 17 when adopted by the late W.R. Taliferro of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. She graduated from Transylvania College in KY. She was married for 35 years to the late Dr. Edwin Owen, who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by many cousins in the Cookeville area: Kay & Mike Detwiler, Susan Detwiler Dalton & Larry Suggs, Michael Jr. & Shawn Detwiler, Mary Katherine Detwiler, Levi Detwiler, and Abigail Dalton all of Cookeville. Also cousins Karen & Robert Brown and Mike Brown of Walling, Karlyn & Jake Reel and Jacob Brown of Knoxville, Kelsey & Drew Hawkins of Jackson, TN, Daniel Watson of Blacksburg, VA and Carol & Tom Attig of Batavia, IL. She is also survived by her two step-sons, Andrew Owen and Kobi Conaway of San Francisco, CA, and step-son, John and Cindy Owen of Pennsylvania.
