Distracted Driving Blamed For Thursday Morning Crash

Distracted driving being blamed for a rollover crash that left a 17-year-old Cookeville girl with minor injuries Thursday.

Officials said the crash happened on Highway 290 in Cookeville when a 2003 Jeep Liberty traveled off the right side of the roadway, over corrected, and flipped onto its top.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the female driver stated she was looking at her GPS when she traveled off the roadway.

She’s facing a citation for the distracted driving law. The THP said the girl suffered some cuts, but refused to be transported for treatment.
