An 18-year-old Cookeville man has landed behind bars after leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle Thursday.
Cookeville Police have charged Nicholas Kaden Geesling with evading arrest, reckless endangerment, DUI, and multiple other offenses.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
A Cookeville Police report states that officers observed Geesling driving a stolen Ford F250 truck on Interstate 40 westbound near exit 286. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but Geesling sped up and used the interstate median to cross into the eastbound lanes.
Authorities said Geesling eventually lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 111 and Lovelady Road, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Geesling also faces charges of resisting arrest, theft of property, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He’s being held at the Putnam County Jail under $56,500 bond.
A passenger identified as Miles Brent Cumby faces charges of public intoxication and theft of property. Cumby remains behind bars under $20,000 bond.
