Walmart will soon be launching free grocery pickup at its Algood location.
The service set to begin May 29th.
Walmart spokesperson Anne Hatfield says the new service should be beneficial for a variety of customers.
“Our customers use it for so many different reasons. The elderly, those with mobility challenges, and moms with young kids,” Hatfield said. “I can tell you, as a mom with young kids, it saves so much time and it’s just so convenient.”
To utilize the service customers can go online to order their groceries and then set a date for pickup. Walmart workers will see the order and then do the shopping for the customer.
Hatfield said shoppers will have the opportunity to review produce and other perishable items.
“We have personal shoppers who do the shopping for you,” Hatfield said. “They are specially trained to be shopping as if they are shopping for themselves. This is all they do during the day and they are trained to be focused to pick the very best items for the customer.”
