Ms. JoAnn Priest of Cookeville passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mermorial services will be held at a later date.

A Memorial Service for Roger Dean Webb, 59 of Sparta, will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jack Chadwell officiating. Roger passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta. Born Tuesday, September 2, 1958 in Auxier, Kentucky, he was the son of Elza Webb and Rachel Smith Webb. He is survived by his Son, Roger D. Webb, Jr; Sisters, Virginia Osborne of Auxier, KY, Cora Greathouse of Auxier, KY, Roberta Jett of Springfield, OH, and Cynthia Vickery of Van Lear, KY; Brothers, David Webb of Sevierville, Jim Webb of Auxier, KY and Frank Webb of Auxier, KY; Grandchildren, Gavin Webb, Shayla Webb, Sophia Webb, Riley Webb, Bethany Webb, Caycee Webb, Leah Webb, Daylin Sears, and Rio Hutchens/Sears; and Special friends, Bonnie and David Bryant. Multiple nieces and nephews throughout Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio also survive. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a Son, Jeremy; Sisters, Goldie Webb, Virgie Webb Daniels, Betty Garret, Lilly Greathouse, Vonna Sue Ousley, O’dell Webb, Martha Lawrence, Ruby Nichols, and Minnie Webb, and Brothers, Elza Webb, Jr. and Elmon “Ed” Webb. Family will receive friends from 5pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Roger would have wanted everyone to dress casual, and wear their overalls to his service.

Funeral services for Mr. Willard “Sonny” Parks, age 83 of Sparta, will be at 11:00 am Thursday, May 3, 2018 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Sonny passed away Monday morning, April 30, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was born June 20, 1934 in Sparta to the late Fred and Florence Williams Parks. Mr. Sonny was also preceded in death by his sons: Jimmy Parks and Roberts, along with the mother of his children: Wilma Dean Parks Brady. He is survived by his: 5 Daughters: Sandy (Morris) Frazier of Bon Air,TN, Gail (Charles) Meadows of Derossett, TN, Brenda (Buddy) Nash of Olmstead, KY, Marlene (Kelly) Hunter of Prescott, Arizona, and Donna (Bill) Ogo of Prescott, Arizona; 2 Sons: Malcolm (Stacy) Parks of Russellville, KY and David Parks of Sparta; Sister: Allie Parks of Sparta; Brother: Henry (Judy) Parks of Pleasant Hill; Several Grandchildren & Great-GreatGrandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday Evening.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Matthews Pugh, 69, of Cookeville, will be held at 3 P.M. on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Okolona Cemetery in Overton County. She passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Overton County Health and Rehab in Livingston. She was born July 29, 1948, in Wilder, TN, to the late Elmer and Fannie Matthews. On July 29, 1963, she was married to the late Doyle Pugh. She was a homemaker, and was kind and loving to all who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Jimmy Pugh and Doyle Pugh, Jr.; 1 Daughter: Wanda Pugh; 4 Brothers: Ray Matthews, Roy Matthews, Owen Matthews, and Lee Matthews; and 3 Sisters: Audrey Matthews, Etta Matthews, and Mary Matthews. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Rebecca (Ralph) Henley of Cookeville, and Linda (Gary) Murphy of Mayland, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Brandon Henley, Alisha Serwan, Brittany Henley, Matt Henley, Dustin Murphy, Jessie Murphy, and Lisa Pugh; 3 Brothers: Doc Matthews of Livingston, Sam Matthews of Gainesboro, and Lawrence Matthews of Crossville; 1 Sister: Ruby Sherrell of Mayland, TN; and 4 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Teresa June Halfacre Dicus, age 66 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Friday May 4, 2018 at the Sparta First United Methodist Church with burial in Highland Cemetery. Teresa passed away Monday evening April 30, 2018 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. Teresa was born June 12, 1951 in Gainesboro to the late Everett Oplis “Elb” Halfacre and Elise Ragland Huff. A proud Granville native, Teresa graduated from Tennessee Tech University and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. While attending TTU, Teresa met her husband of 42 years, Buddy Dicus. She was a homemaker extraordinaire who loved her family and simply adored her grandsons, as she was affectionately known as “Ma” to her boys. Teresa also loved her “Birthday Girls” and was a member of the Sparta First United Methodist Church. In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by her brother Marion Halfacre. Teresa’s surviving family includes her Husband of 42 years, Buddy Dicus; Children: Ashley Brent Dicus & wife Amber, Blake Alan Dicus & wife Jacqueline, Summer Kathleen Wood & husband Patrick; Grandchildren: Sam Everett Dicus, Jack Hunter Dicus, Jake Owen Dicus; Mother: Elise Ragland Huff; Sister: Sarah Halfacre Verble & husband Bruce; In-laws: Jess “Buster” & Martha Dicus; Sister-in-law: Diane Reese; Nieces & Nephews: Carly Verble, Lesli Gentry & husband John, Patrick Reese & wife Colleen, Erik Halfacre, Natalie Wilkinson & husband Gavin; Four-legged friend: Kaleb. The family will receive friends Thursday at the Church starting at 4:00pm. Memorial Services for Mr. Lonnie Manning, age 100 of Cookeville will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 beginning at 6:00 PM at West Cookeville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness located at 3850 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville. Lonnie passed from this life Saturday, April 28, 2018, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. He was born Monday, June 11, 1917, he was the son of the late Simme and Leila Manning. He was a loving Husband and Father and was a Veteran of World War II. He owned and operated his own business for many years. He is survived by his wife: Mary (Homsey) Manning of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Deborah Manning of Cookeville; 1 Son: Stephen Russell Manning of Knoxville.

Celebration of Life for Della “Jean” Smith, 67 of Cookeville, will be held, Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Paran Church in Cookeville. Jean passed from this life Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at her home in Cookeville. Jean was born Wednesday, August 9, 1950 and she was the daughter of the late Carl E. Sr.and the Dorothy (Johnson) Stults. Jean enjoyed spending time with family and working for the Lord. She worked at Lucky B Manufacturing for many years. Jean loved animals and especially her German Shepherd, Duck. Jean is survived by: 2 Daughters: Dawn Huckeby, Jennifer and Terry Mansell; 1 Son: Jamie McGinnis; 2 Grandsons: Daniel James Harville, Elijah Glenn McGinnis; Great-Granddaughter: Kallie Jaden Lynn Harville. In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by: Brother: Carl Stults, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to: Cookeville Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501 in memory of Della Jean Smith.
