Drug Take Back Event Collects Nearly 730 Pounds Of Prescription Drugs

The Power of Putnam Anti Drug Coalition collected 728 pounds of used or unwanted drugs during last weekend’s National Drug Take Back event.

That figure just under the 1,000 pounds of prescription drugs collected during the April 2017 drug take back event. In October, the coalition collected around 700 pounds of used or unwanted drugs.

Local residents can drop off unwanted medications anytime at one of the five 24/7 drug take back boxes around Putnam County.

The drop off boxes are located at police departments in Algood, Cookeville, and Monterey. Boxes are also located at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Walgreens on Willow Avenue.
