Your chance to help reduce the Upper Cumberland’s Opioid problem comes Saturday.
The spring Drug Take Back event will happen in Putnam, Overton, Dekalb, and Jackson Counties Saturday. Law enforcement will be setup at locations across the region accepting old prescriptions you no longer need or use.
More than 456 tons of prescription medicine were removed from medicine cabinets nationwide at last fall’s drug take back event. Drug abusers often target medicine cabinets, especially of the elderly, and still pills.
Expired drugs can also be dangerous with unexpected side effects.
Power of Putnam Drug Take Back events will happen Saturday from 10am to 1pm at locations across the county. You can find the full list of participating locations on our website here.
