The City of Algood will be purchasing two Polaris off-road vehicles.
City officials said the vehicles will be used for special events and responding to incidents on the rail trail or in wooded areas.
“They’re also going to carry medical bags and possibly an AED device,” Algood Mayor Kirk Dyer said.
Police Chief Dale Armour said the vehicles will allow officers easier access to hard to get areas, instead of having to use a regular patrol car or a truck.
The city council has approved using money our of the police department’s drug fund to make the purchases.
