Cookeville Man Leads Mt. Juliet Police On Low-Speed Pursuit

A Cookeville man faces charges after leading Mt. Juliet Police on a short, low-speed pursuit in a stolen car Thursday.

The charges against 36-year-old Eric Moore include theft of property, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a Schedule I Drug and driving under the influence.

Authorities said the incident happened around 6:15 PM near the Golden Bear Gateway and I-40.

According to report from Mount Juliet Police, officers responded to the area and found Moore driving the wrecked vehicle slowly down Golden Bear Gateway. Police said Moore drove about a mile before he decided to pull over.

After taking Moore into custody, officers allegedly found methamphetamine in his possession.

Further investigation revealed Moore was in possession of a car stolen out of Putnam county and driving on a revoked driver’s license as an habitual offender. He also exhibited signs of impairment, according to the release.
