AAAD Meet And Greet In Sparta Monday

Area Agency on Aging and Disability will be in White County Monday, informing residents about the new SNAP benefits program.

AAAD Family Caregiver Coordinator Claire Farless said the new program could provide seniors with extra SNAP benefits by helping them take advantage of the extra medical deduction.

“Most seniors get around $15 worth of benefits and with this new program our advocate helps them apply for these extra deductions to allow them to get anywhere up to $100 worth of SNAP benefits,” Farless said.

Farless said AAAD representatives will also discuss the family support programs across the region, the Medicare program, and other AAAD services.

Farless said the meet and greet event will take place Monday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the White County Public Library in Sparta.
