Crossville City Council members have provided an above average rating to city manager Greg Wood.
Wood achieved a median grade of 4.03 from the five council members. The council graded Wood in ten different categories.
Council members offered Wood only three individual grades under three in its evaluation. City council JH Graham III gave Wood a below average grade in setting agendas that avoid unnecessary involvement in administrative actions.
Graham ranked the city manager poor in reviewing ordinances and policies to suggest improvement and also in offering workable alternatives on ordinances that are no longer practical.
“Overall, I believe Mr. Wood carries out the duties and responsibilities of the Crossville City Manager effectively and efficiently,” Graham wrote in his comments.
Council Member Pamala Harris said she liked that Wood had conducted job evaluations with city staff.
“This is something I brought up over three years ago,” Harris said. “We finally have a City Manager who realizes the importance of evaluations. I understand one employee has not been evaluated in 19 years.”
The council considered the evaluation during a Tuesday work session. Council will discuss Wood’s evaluation at next week’s meeting.
