Russell Edward Smith, 91 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Saint Thomas – West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mr. Jeffrey Dewey Reagan, age 73, of Monroe, will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Aron Dillon will officiate. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5 until 8 p.m. Jeffrey passed from this life on Saturday afternoon, March 3, 2018 from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on September 16, 1944 to the late Arville and Dellus Huffer Reagan. He worked at Ford as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed farming, working with cattle, fishing, and working on cars. He is survived by daughters, Deanna Melton of Rickman, TN and Sherry Sturgill and husband John of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Cody King, Olivia Palfreyman and husband John, Courtney Cunningham and husband Adam, and Rusty Qualls; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Sawilla Ann “Sue” Hickey Reams, age 76, of Sparta will be held Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Saylors Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Wednesday, March 7, 2018, 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home. Sue passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Thomas-West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Sue was born Monday, February 09, 1942 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Sheriff William Hickey and the first elected female Sheriff in the State of Tennessee, Sheriff Annell Oliver Hickey. For over fifty years, Sue was a nurse. Sue began her career in nursing with Dr. Adams in Woodbury, Tennessee. She finished her career with Dr. Clarence Jones in Cookeville. Sue loved people, loved helping people, and enjoyed having a great time with people. She always had a funny story to share. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by: her husband, James Reams; brother, Billy Lee Hickey.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Lee “Bill” Clemons, age 90 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery with full military honors presented by the Veterans’ Honor Guard. Mr. Clemons passed away Monday morning March 5, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Clemons was born September 11, 1927 in the Bon Air Community of White County to the late Jessie Shadrick & Bessie Lou Stults Clemons. He was a retired electrician and plummer. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman loving to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters Macie Johnson, Edith Brown, Jewell Haley; brothers Carl Clemons and Jesse “Tim” Clemons. Surviving family members include his wife 58 years Virgie Elise Maynard Clemons of Sparta; Daughter: Darlene Hancock and husband Danny of Murfreesboro; Grandsons: Jeffrey Kyle Hancock, Steven Kale Hancock and wife Amanda all of Murfreesboro; Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7:00 at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Akers Maynard, 88, of Gainesboro, will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. She passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro. She was born November 23, 1929, in Grethel, KY, to the late Silas Akers and Lona Branham Akers. She was married to the late Kelly Maynard. She was a devoted member of the Pilgrims Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Grethel, KY. She loved her church and wanted everyone she knew or met to go to heaven. She was a light to everyone that knew her and many that did not. She witnessed about the Lord to anyone she met. She always made sure to let you know that she loved you, and made even the simple things such a joyful time. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Boyd Thomas and Robbie Kelly; 3 Daughters-in-Law: Kathleen, Darlene, and Lee; 3 Brothers: Richard, Elvie, and Daniel; and 2 Sisters: Edna and Zetti. Survivors include her Sons: Donnie (Elizabeth), David, Joseph (Susan), James (Eileen), and Daniel (Tracy); 20 Grandchildren; 46 Great Grandchildren; 14 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Eulavene and Violet; and 1 Brother: Ray. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral Services For A G Phillips, Age 86, Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, At 2:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Allen And Rev. Eugene McCowan Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Phillips Cemetery In The Anderson Community. Special Music Will Be Provided By Rev. Hoyt Looper. Mr. Phillips Was Born On February 24, 1932, In Monterey, To The Late William Cullum And Dora Norrod Phillips. Mr. Phillips Passed Away On Sunday, March 4, 2018, At The Standing Stone Care And Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Phillips Dedicated His Life To The Lord On December 30, 1972. He Was A Member And Former Deacon Of Monterey 2nd Freewill Baptist Church. He Was A Faithful Representative Of The Eastern Division Stone Association Of Freewill Baptist. He Is Survived By His Wife Of Over 60 Years, Willie Mae Eldridge Phillips Of Monterey; 4 Sons And 3 Daughters-In-Law, Rev. Darrel And Geneva Phillips Of Cookeville, Stephen And Wendy Phillips Of Mayland, Billy And Keesha Phillips Of Cookeville, Woody Phillips Of Michigan; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters And A Brother-In-Law, Odean Tudor Of Monterey, Ana Del And Rev. Funeral services for Mr. Carl Thomas “Junior” Huffer, age 71, of Monroe, will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Denny Bullock will officiate. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Carl passed from this life on Sunday afternoon, March 4, 2018 from Signature Health Care in Algood, Tennessee. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on February 11, 1947 to the late Clyde and Louise Swann Huffer. He was a farmer. He was a Christian in faith. He enjoyed farming, riding tractors, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by daughters, Crystal Randolph of Cookeville; Lisa Huffer of Livingston; Amy Wilkerson and husband Chris of Atlanta, GA; Angie Dyer of Columbus, KY; brother, Donald “Porky” Huffer of Monroe; and sister, Brenda Haney of Monroe; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Huffer and David Harold “Bub” Huffer. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 11 a.m. until time of the service.

Funeral services for Oliver Clarence Wolaver, 85 of Sparta, will be held at 11am on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Derreck Coble officiating. Mr. Wolaver passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at his residence in Sparta. Born Saturday, June 11, 1932 in Lewisburg, he was the son of Rob and Sarah Pigg Wolaver. He was the husband of Loyce Smith Wolaver. Mr. Wolaver was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He loved God, his family, fishing, and gardening. He was also a member of the West Sparta Church of Christ, where he served as Deacon before his health declined. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Loyce Smith Wolaver; sons, Tony (Christine) and Jeff (Jamie); grandchildren, Gavin, Gianna, Michael, Dylan, and Deven; nephews, Bob Dew (Pam) and family; niece, Jacky Newman (Jim) and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Edwina Wolaver. Burial will follow in Elrod Cemetery in Sparta. Family will recieve friends on Thursday, March 8, from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Elrod Cemetery in C/O George Elrod at 320 Hillview Drive, Sparta, TN 38583.

A Celebration of Life memorial service honoring the life of Joan “Jo” Britnell will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12 noon at First United Methodist Church, Cookeville. Visitation will be at the church in the Jeff Wall Hall following the service. Jo died Friday , March 2, 2018 at the age of 88 in Life Care Center of Sparta.

Funeral services for William Floyd Cartwright, Sr., 61 of Algood, will be held Saturday, Marth 10th, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Crest Lawn Funeral Home-Cremation Center. William departed this life March 2, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was born April 23, 1956 to the late Frank Cartwright and Rubie Nell Jernigan. Mr. Cartwright was a Pastor and currently employed at Putnam County Sheriff Department . He was the former Chief of police in Algood and also a life long history of security. He leaves cherish memories to his wife Linda Johnson Cartwright step father James Jernigan, two children Mitzi Nell (Joey) Cartwright Schibik and William Floyd Cartwright Jr. Grandchildren Quanisha Cartwright, Oriyana Miles, Brooklyn Sullivan, Braxton Lafever, Kaleeyah Morphis, Madi Dalton, Elaysia, Lakoiya, Nakayia Schibik – Cartwright. Great grandchildren Krystella Easley, and A’shaii Spicer, Brothers from Doug, Wayne and Ray Cartwright Algood and Randy Johnson from Silverpoint. Sisters Kathy Johnson from silverpoint, Patsy (Bob) Gist from Cookeville, Judy (Johnnie) Cullom from Silverpoint. Aunts, Yvonne Gardner from Cookeville, Mary Alice McClellan and Margret Ann Hurt from Cookeville.Special friends Anita Carter, Katie Sampler, Bo Mullins, Marshell Kelso, Rev. Earl Dickerson, Anthony Earls, Reaker Bass, John E. Jackson. Visitations will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, March 9th, 2018, and 11:00am until time of service Saturday, March 10th, 2018.
