Search crews in DeKalb County located the body of a missing Lebanon Police Officer in a flooded creek this afternoon.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the body of officer Joseph Bowen was found deceased shortly after authorities located his truck partially submerged in Dry Creek off Highway-70.
DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray issued a BOLO alert for Bowen earlier today when he failed to return home after leaving work at the Lebanon Police Department this morning.
Right now it appears that his truck left Highway 70 and went off an embankment into the creek, according to WJLE.
Ray said the 28-year-old Bowen lived in DeKalb County and was a former deputy for his department.
