The Crossville City Council has given approval to move forward with a program seeking to increase the raw water supply.
The council has agreed to send four potential options to be reviewed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other regulators.
“The benefits of doing this is going to help the city in knowing what direction to move toward as far as our future water supply is concerned,” Councilwoman Pamela Harris said. “I think it’s good for the public to know that we are looking out for our future.”
The options includes harvesting water from Watts Bar Lake or raising Meadow Park Lake Dam and harvesting water from Lake Tansi, the Caney Fork River, or Holiday Lake.
