Cookeville Approves Contract To Study Water And Wastewater Rates

Cookeville City Council members approved a contract last night for a company to study Cookeville’s water and wastewater rates.

“They will help guide our department through the development of a rate structure and financial plan that will ensure that our department has the available funding to keep pace with the water and infrastructure needs of the city of Cookeville,” Water Department Director Ronnie Kelly said.

The $44,575 project will be finished this summer and possibly implemented in the fall. City Manager Mike Davidson said it’s been about 8 to 10 years since the city has had an outside consultant take a look at the water department’s rates.
