The Upper Cumberland has received a total of $1.89 million dollars in Community Development Block Grant funding from the state.
Allardt, Byrdstown, Celina, Jamestown, and Livingston received the grants, which were announced Tuesday by the State Department of Economic and Community Development.
The funding will be used for fire protection improvements, water and sewer system improvements, and commercial facade improvements.
The city of Jamestown received the most grant funding at $525,000, which will require a $123,150 match for a total of $648,150. Officials said the funding will be used for sewer system improvements.
