The Putnam County Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire around 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Officials said it happened at a saw mill in the Livingston Highway area.
No injuries occurred and officials said the owner managed to knock the fire down with a fire extinguisher. Chief Tom Brown said firefighters entered the structure to check for extensions, extinguish hot spots and to perform overhaul duties.
No extensions were found and crews removed some tin and insulation from a wall to ensure all fire had been extinguished. Three apparatus and 10 personnel were on scene while several others were staged in the event the fire was larger.
No injuries were reported.
