Algood Fire Hall Expansion Slowly Getting Underway

Work on expanding Algood’s new fire hall is slowly starting to take off.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said some electrical issues are currently slowing the project down.

“We have had an issue with the power to the building. The pole is currently sitting in the actual footprint of the new fire hall plan,” Morrison said. “We’ve been having to work with the electrical engineer form the architects firm as well as Upper Cumberland Electric to work on an alternative plan.”

Once completed the $634,925 dollar project will add three double bays along with new training space. It will also allow Putnam County EMS to have a second bay to run a 24-hour ambulance service out of the current station.
