The Putnam County Fiscal Review Committee has approved a recommendation to allow Upper Cumberland Regional Airport employees to be under the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System.
County Executive Randy Porter said it won’t cost the county any money.
“There’s only two full-time employees at the airport and TCRS will not allow them to set their own retirement up unless all four municipalities vote on this resolution to do it,” Porter said. “It’s just formalities to allow them to set up their own retirement. They won’t be under the county’s.”
The Putnam County Commission will vote on the resolution Monday.
Cookeville, White County, and Sparta will also have to give approval.
