Crews from the Tennessee Department of Transportation will be out in full force if the weather begins to get bad Friday.
Region-2 Communications Director Jennifer Flynn said it’s important that drivers stay aware on the roadways if the weather gets bad.
“Don’t get up close behind the salt truck and don’t do any crazy maneuvers to pass them,” Flynn said. “They’re not out there to mess up your cars with salt. They’re out there to try to make sure that you don’t slide on the ice and hit something that you don’t want to.”
Flynn said TDOT has over 290,000 tons of salt and more than 1.6 million gallons of slat brine ready for use statewide.
