Court costs in the Smithville Municipal Court may be increasing soon.
Monday night, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to increase court costs $15 to $100 per citation. City officials said the increase will help the police department upgrade to a new court management computer software system.
The second reading of the ordinance increasing court costs will be voted on next month.
