The Putnam County Fiscal Review Committee recommended approval last night for the county to apply for a Community Development Block Grant this year.
County Executive Randy Porter said if awarded the grant, he hopes to use the funding to replace one of the county’s fire trucks.
“Last year we applied to replace the fire truck at Cumberland Cove and we did not get the grant,” Porter said. “Since we’ve already done all the leg work and everything, we won’t have to do anything but re-apply.”
The full county commission will vote to consider applying for that grant when they meet Tuesday January 16th.
