Cookeville Approves Budget Amendment

The Cookeville City Council approved on first reading last night a $1.3 million budget amendment to the general fund for the 2017-2018 fiscal year budget.

City Finance Director Brenda Imel said the budget amendment is for several capital expenditure projects.

The budget amendment includes $600,000 for the police station property on the corner of Neal Street and Old Walton Road, $75,000 for public works, and $625,000 to purchase property for the Dogwood Park expansion

The #75,000 for public works will fund some road work at the new police headquarters. The city agreed to do some road improvements in that area as part of the purchase agreement.
