Six people expressed interest last night in filling one of the two vacant Algood City Council seats.
One of the six was Luke Hill, who moved to Algood 18 months ago from Memphis. Hill said he believed a fresh face would be beneficial to the council.
“We have seen some of the strife recently and we are concerned,” Hill said. “Some healing needs to happen, but at the same time that doesn’t mean you can’t move forward with smart growth and smart planning.”
Hill serves as chief legal council at CRMC and has served on boards and commissions at the city and county level in Shelby County.
Other folks who will be considered to fill the unexpired council seats include Tim McPherson, Gabe Caldwell, Shawna Whitefield, Justin Grant and Milburn Rodgers.
Tonight the 3-member council will select two of those candidates to fill the two vacant seats.
