Local Software Company To Purchase Land At Highlands Business Park

The Cookeville City Council will meet Thursday to consider selling property at the Highlands Business park to a local software development company.

Economic and Community Development Director Melinda Keifer said Oculus Software wants to purchase 4.3 acres of land at Venture Drive and Lee Seminary Road.

“The price is set at $20,000 per acre and it’s just a very exciting opportunity for one of our local businesses to grow,” Keifer said.

Oculus Software formed in 2008 out of Bank of Putnam County. The company currently has nine employees and serves several banks in Tennessee as well as 15-different banks in 15-states across the country.
