A single vehicle crash in White County has killed a 3-year-old boy and left a 10-month-old girl injured.
Officials said the crash happened Saturday night around 10:00 p.m. on Highway 70 east.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash happened when a 2011 Ford left the roadway and went over the embankment before striking another embankment.
The driver was only identified as a 25-year-old female from Sparta, who received treatment at Vanderbilt Medical Center along with the 10-month-old child.
Authorities said child restraint devices were in place, but not properly used at the time of the crash.
The THP crash report indicated that charges are pending.
