2nd COVID Death At NHC Smithville

A second patient has died at NHC’s Smithville facility from COVID-19 as employee cases at long-term care facilities continue to rise.

Data from the Tennessee Department of Health showed a second death at the facility with three patients currently testing positive. Ten patients have recovered. Four employees are currently testing positive.

Both the Cookeville and McMinnville facilities are reporting no current patients with COVID-19 after their cluster outbreak. Ten patients died at those two facilities. NHC Sparta reports one positive employee case, according to data from its website.

The Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center in Monterey reports seven patients battling COVID-19, according to Sunday’s data. The Monterey facility reports eight employee cases. Life Care Center of Sparta reports eight employee cases.

Signature Health Care of Fentress County reports seven employee cases Sunday. Wyndridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville shows 12 employee cases while Good Samaritan Society-Fairfield Glade reports five. None of the three facilities reports a positive patient case.

Celina Health and Rehab Center reports one positive patient and two positive employees.

It is important to note that Tennessee Department of Health data has been delayed several days in reporting.
