2-Car Accident On Highway 62 Injures One

A two-car accident on Highway 62 in Putnam County Friday afternoon injured a Monterey woman.

According to preliminary reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a westbound vehicle driven by 48-year old Tracy Evans of Cookeville crossed the center line in a curve. Evans’ vehicle struck a car driven by 23-year-old Brittany Phillips of Monterey.

Phillips was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Both cars had to be towed from the scene.

The incident happened just before Noon Friday.
