Warren County suffered its 16th traffic fatality of the year Sunday.
Authorities said the fatality occurred when a Toyota Scion crashed into a tree off Mullican Road.
The deceased is identified as 21-year-old Lauren Bain. Her 9-year-old cousin suffered injuries and had to be airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital for treatment.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Bain was driving on Mullican Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and struck the tree.
