A sergeant with the White County Sheriff’s Office was uninjured after being involved in a Friday evening crash.
Sheriff Steve Page said the accident involving Sergeant Mark Evans occurred before 5:30 p.m. in front of Taco Metals in Sparta.
“[Evans] was heading south and the other gentleman was heading west on Highway 70,” Page said. “Luckily no one was hurt but a couple of vehicles were totaled. From my understanding, from what I was told, the subject that was driving a Dodge Dakota came over into Mark Evans’ lane of travel all at once and clipped the driver’s side of the front of the patrol vehicle.”
Page said Evans continued to work later that evening. The Tennessee Highway Patrol stated Monday a crash report is not available at this time as the incident is still under investigation.
