White County Little League Offering Discount For Spring Season

The Sparta White County Little League returns for another season of baseball and softball for local youth.

Registration has opened for four and five-year-old tee-ball, baseball ranging from six to 13-years-old and softball for six to 16-years-old. President Don Pearcy said the early bird discount is available until January 31st.

“We felt we were very fortunate to have a season last year, and it was a great season,” Pearcy said. “The goal this year is to just improve upon that.”

One of those improvements is a new registration portal. Pearcy said newly elected board members voted to partner with a web design company before the season. Pearcy said the website allows for direct communication with teams and coaches and an integrated schedule.

“We will run registration as long as we possibly can,” Pearcy said. “Right now, we have registration to end in the middle of February. Right now, there’s an early bird discount for $10 dollars off your registration fee.”

Team drafts are set to begin the first week of March. Practices begin the week after with the season beginning the second week of April. Pearcy said volunteers play a vital role once games begin, so if you want to coach or maintain the field, the opportunity is there.

“We need all sort of volunteers from field maintenance from cleaning up facilities to coaches,” Pearcy said. “There’s seven board members, but it takes a lot more than that to put the season on and have a good season for the kids.”

To volunteer or play, sign up at clubs.bluesombrero.com/spartall. Registration fees cost $75 with the early bird discount. Games are played at the county fields at Smithville Highway and the city fields by the YMCA.
