Mr. Wayne Hancock, age 75, of Monroe, passed from this life on Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020 from the Livingston Regional Medical Center. He was born in Overton County to the late Carlos & Laura Davis Hancock. Waynes leaves behind his son, Damon Hancock & wife Leigh Anne of Hendersonville; daughter, Galena Salais & husband Raymon of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Marisa Salais, Brandon Salais, Joshua Salais, Liam Hancock, Nick Hancock, Grant Hancock, and Helena Hancock; sister, Wanda Phillips & husband Jimmy of Florida; brother, Jimmy Hancock & wife Brenda of Virginia; nieces, Kerri Stevenson, and Mandy Wenger. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Dena Hancock;and aunt, Hazel Webb. Funeral Services are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mr. Jim “Von” Way, 83, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Union Hill – Flatt Cemetery on Shepardsville Hwy. in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Thursday from 8 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at his residence. He was born April 26, 1936, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Bennie Way and Beulah Way. He was married to Clara Jean Way, who survives. He was the owner of Way’s Custom Shop, making custom draperies. He was a member of the Sycamore Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Ray Way, Delane Way, Jack Way, and Auburn “Ben” Way. Survivors include his Wife: Clara Jean Way of Bloomington Springs, TN; 3 Sons: Kim (Sandra) Way of Cookeville, TN, Kerry (Gethyn) Way of Munising, MI, and Kevin (Lisa) Way of Midland, MI; 1 Daughter: Brenda (Fred) Bratumil of Novi, MI; 2 Step Daughters: Joy (Gary) Fox of Bloomington Springs, TN, and Anita (Danny) Nichols of Cookeville, TN; 13 Grandchildren: Jamie, Heidi, Rebecca, Molly, Kyle, Trent, Ambre, Katie, Amy, Bryann, Heather, Rachel, and Daniel; several Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: David (Linda) Way of Taylor, MI; and 2 Sisters: Oneta (Nick) Baggett of Westland, MI, and Alma (Neal) Chaffin of Gainesboro.

Mrs. German Passed Away On Sunday, January 12, 2020, At Her Home. Mrs. German Was A Homemaker. She Loved To Read And Write Poetry. She Was A Member Of Monterey Church Of Christ. She Is Survived By, 2 Sons And Daughters-In-Law, Freddy And Christie German Of Lavergne, TN, Larry And Darlene German Of Jackson County, TN; 4 Grandchildren, Freddy German Jr., Thomas German, Katherine Lewis And Nicholas German; Sister, Katherine Gambill Of Monterey, TN; And Sister-In-Law, Georgia Way Of Monterey, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Zelma L. Beaty, age 97 of Cookeville, will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 12 PM in the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Netherland Cemetery in Rickman, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Officiating will be Bro. Danny Brown and Bro. Alan Cooper.

The Funeral Service for Wesley “Dillard” Johnson, 81, of Sparta, will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 1 pm with visitation before service with burial to follow at Plainview- Cemetery in the Cassville Community. The service will be officiated by Rev. Tracy Curtis, Rev. David England and Rev. Eugene Lawson. He crossed over from his earthly home into his heavenly home and entered his Saviors presence on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at his residence in Sparta. Dillard was born on May 13, 1938 to the late George Virgil and Jessie Lena Brown Johnson in Sparta, TN. At 19 he accepted the call to preach. He was a Freewill Baptist minister for 46 years. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and served state side. He had many other jobs along with pastoring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his; Brother- James Harold Johnson. First Wife of 46 years- Aline Holloway Johnson, Brother- George Johnson and Brother-in-laws- Gene Johnson and Cordell Holloway. Survivors include; Wife of 15 years- Rita Johnson of Sparta; Daughter- Rena Johnson of Gallatin; Step-Daughter- Crystal Hutchings of Sparta; Granddaughter- Latisha Tower (Dale Harris) of Cookeville; Grandsons- Landon, Layne, Laken, and Lawrance Johnson of Gallatin; Great-Granddaughter- Lidia Tower of Cookeville; Great-Grandson-Braxton Tower of Cookeville; Sisters- Elega Hobbs (Morris) of Spencer, Val Johnson of Sparta, Vonda Jones (Rex) of McMinnville, June Springer of Sparta, and Sherry Mooneyham of Sparta; Sister-in-laws- Mary Glenn Johnson of Warren, Michigan, Betty Davis Johnson, Bessie Holloway England (David), Janice Pittman (Ron), Karen Ward (Mark) all of Sparta, Debbie Hutchings (Wayne) of Quebeck; Brother-in-laws- Delbert Holloway of Monterey, Levon Maynard (Rosie) and Jimmy Maynard of Sparta. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 4-8 pm at Camp Heights Community Freewill Baptist Church.

Memorial services for Mr. Stacy Lynn Thomas, 51 of Baxter will be held Thursday January 16, 2020 beginning at 6:00 pm from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home.with Bro. Fabron Nicholson officiating. He passed from this life Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born Friday, April 5, 1968 in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of Lynn Thomas and the late Judith Anderson Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a loving Father, Son, Brother and friend to all who knew him. He loved Nascar Racing, Wrestling, Bowling, and Cooking. He used to bowl on a league before he became disabled. In addition to his father, he is survived by: 1 Son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Lisa Violette of Sparta; Stepmother: Latane Thomas of Baxter; 1 Sister: Stefanie Janko of Cookeville; 1 Step-sister and spouse: Misty and Jason Carr of Baxter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday January 16, from 2:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Dexter, age 75 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, January 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Dr. Jason Groe will officiate. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Dexter died Tuesday January 14, 2020 at her residence. Her family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Charles Foster Rouse, age 87 of Sparta, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Oakwood Church Of Christ in Sparta. He passed away on January 12, 2020 at Life Care of Sparta. Charles attended Wallace/Smith Elementary School in Sparta, TN, First thru Eighth grade. He was transferred by bus to Darwin High School in Cookeville, TN. Charles attended from 1950-52. In 1952, Charles went into the U.S. Navy. He trained in San Diego, California for four years. He was transferred to Norfolk, Virginia in 1956.Norfolk, Virginia was his home port from1956-67. Charles was in and out to sea for training, stationed on a U.S. Destroyer. In 1967 he was transferred to Key West, Florida for two years. In 1969-70 he was transferred back to Norfolk, Virginia. On April 9, 1971 he retired from the Navy. It was a hard and trying time, but with God on our side, we could do all things. Charles was a member of the Church of Christ for most of his life. He loved working for the Lord any way he could. He loved to garden and plant roses. He also worked for the State of TN. Highway Dept. and Edd Rodgers for years. He is survived by his wife loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Rouse. Charles was born August 27, 1932 in Springfield to the late Nancy Lee Hill and Jessie Lee Rouse also special grandmother Ozella Mills and grandfather Edna Mills. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Lee Hill and Jessie Lee Rouse; sisters, Betty League, Peggy Nowlin, and Barbara Atkins; brothers, John Lewis, Michael (Hammer) Lewis; He is also survived by his brother, Nathaniel and wife Pam Lewis of Sparta; sister, Linda Sue McReynolds of Nashville; He is also preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law Sara and James Leftwich; brother-in-law, Sammie Dibrell, Jeff Leftwich, Don Leftwich, Johnny Leftwich, and Tommy Leftwich. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Joyce Dibrell of Sparta, Margaret Leftwich of IN, and Wendy Leftwich of Sparta; brothers-in-law, James and Susie of Sparta, and Glenn and Connie Leftwich of Sparta; a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Oakwood Church Of Christ in Sparta.

A memorial service for Mrs. Wanda Beverly Lundskog, age 93 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the downstairs chapel of Cookeville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Lundskog died Saturday January 11, 2020 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 8, 1926 in Salt Lake City, UT to the late Earl and Alta Oakden Barns. She was a resident of Utah until 1998 and lived in Colorado before moving to Cookeville in 2008. Wanda had a sweet and kind nature. Seemingly always happy, she loved to laugh-and laughed often! She made the best of circumstances, whatever they may be. She was a great cook and enjoyed baking with her favorite ingredient, chocolate. Wanda’s quite strength came from her faith and love of her Lord, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed friendship and fellowship from the people at Cookeville First Baptist Church where she attended. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lundskog; son, Lee Lundskog; daughter, Minnie Loiselle; and by sister, Muriel Dutton. She is survived by daughters, Janet Doxsee of Cookeville, Beverly Willardson and Joan Scott; brother, Vernon Lundskog, all of Salt Lake City; sister, Alta Godwin of Washington state; and by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mr. Brandin Bays, age 50, of Cookeville, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday January 19 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston an Horner Fuenral Home. Judy Duke will officiate. His family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time. Brandin was born September 13, 1969 in Orange County, CA to Candace Bays of Cookeville, and the late Jon William Bays.
