Mr. Raymond Clark, Age 65, Of Monterey, Passed Away On Tuesday, April 16, 2019, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral Arrangements Are Incomplete.

Mrs. Verna Blanton Brymer, age 93 of Sparta, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta. Born Saturday, January 23, 1926 in Sparta, she was the daughter of the late Emory Green and the late Maggie Yates Green. Surviving family members include two sons, Jacky and wife Binita Grace Blanton as well as Lynn and wife Reba Blanton, all of Sparta. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive. Mrs Brymer’s family has chosen cremation and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorial services for Dorothy Theresa Anderson, 86 of Cookeville will be Tuesday, April 16 at 6 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Anderson died Saturday, April 13, 2019 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1932 in New York to the late Vincent and Louise Fink George Kelleher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Anderson and several siblings. She was a resident of Cookeville since 2005. She was a homemaker and member of Cookeville First Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters: Lisa (Lester) Bernstein of Cookeville, Kathy (Rich) Zimmer of Charlotte, NC and Lorri Anderson of Indian Trail, NC, son Paul Anderson, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 PM until service time. Memorial contributions to Stevens St. Care Center, 406 Short St., Cookeville, TN 38501 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.

Funeral services for Jimmie Wayne Whiteaker, age 79, of Algood, will be held Tuesday April 16 at 6 p.m. in the Algood Family Event Center, 124 First Avenue, Algood, TN. Pastor Danny Whitson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 p.m. until service time. Jimmie passed away Sunday April 14, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. He was born June 6, 1939 in Nashville, TN to the late James Herbert and Lola Evelyn Clements Whiteaker. Jimmie was retired Assistant Director of Vocational Rehabilitation with the State of Tennessee. He attended Trinity Assembly and was an avid hunter. Pallbearers will be Tony Whiteaker, Cory Moody, Eddy Locke, Ethan Locke, Ricky Gentry, and Kyle Hannah. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Goff, Jere McCulley, Jerry Sliger, RD Mahan, and Jamie Moody. Celebration of Life for Lois Evelyn (Thacker) Bellomy, 69 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastors Stephen Morrison and James Staggs officiating. Lois passed from this life peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born Wednesday, July 13, 1949, in Vanceburg, Kentucky and she was the daughter of Ernest Warner Thacker and the late Beatrice Vivian (Bloomfield) Thacker. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She enjoyed taking care of children, especially babies, cared deeply for dogs and all animals, and was an avid QVC shopper. Mostly, she was devoted to her faith and her family. Lois is survived by: Husband: Darrell Bellomy; 2 Children: Julie Ann (Bellomy) and Reverend John Richard Hawes, Anthony “Tony” Wayne Bellomy and Husband Larry D. Gabbard; Grandson: John Warner “Pete” Bellomy Hawes; 2 Sisters: Rosella Kaye and Larry Frazier, Diane and John Bevan; Brother: Myron Eugene and Diane Thacker; Father and Step-Mother: Ernest Warner and Audrey Thacker; Beloved Pet: Miss Bea; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. In addition to her mother, Lois was preceded in death by 3 Brothers, Roger Allen Thacker, Ernest Warner Thacker, Jr., and Michael David Thacker. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cookeville Rescue Mission.

Funeral services for Leila “Ann” Sorrell Verble, age 88 of Sparta, will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday April 17, 2019, at Hunter Funeral Home of Sparta, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m., April 16 at Hunter Funeral Home. She passed away April 14, 2019 after a short illness. Ann was the daughter of Carroll and Lenora Taft Sorrell. Ann was born 6/21/1930 in the Taft community of White County, TN. She met Robert Douglas Verble at Tech and they married September 29, 1950. She was a loving mother to their sons, Robert Andrew and David Carroll Verble. Doug and Ann celebrated their sixtieth anniversary in 2010.

Memorial Services for Harold “Hal” David Bittinger, age 63 of Sparta, will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Michelle Brooks-Young officiating. Hal was born May 17, 1955 in Lincoln, NE to Bill and Margery Gettys Bittinger, and passed from this life on April 15, 2019 at his home in Sparta. Hal learned to play golf as a young boy and enjoyed playing throughout his adult years. He was an avid bicyclist, history buff, and a huge South Carolina Gamecocks and MTSU fan. He enjoyed reading, politics, and most of all, spending time with his family. Hal met the love of his life, Sandy, and they were married September 13, 1996. They enjoyed 23 wonderful years together and made memories to last a lifetime. He was loved by their children and loved being “Poppa” to their grandchildren, who adored him. He graduated from Irmo High School in Irmo, SC in 1973 and began his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina. After 2 years, he moved to Shelbyville and finished his education at MTSU in Murfreesboro with a degree in accounting. He soon began his career with the City of Lebanon, where he retired after 30 years, as the Commissioner of Finance. He furthered his career as the Finance Director for The Village at Richton Park in IL and retired from that position in 2015. Hal made many life-long friends along the way and cherished their years together. Hal was preceded in death by his mother, his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Gene and Evelyn Cody and one sister-in-law, Susie Sherrell. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Cody Bittinger of Sparta; Children – Dewayne Parks, Karla (Brad) Beaty and Kerrie (Mike) Alford, all of Sparta; Father – Bill (Shirley) Bittinger of Winnsboro, SC; Brother – Paul Bittinger of Columbia, SC; Sister – Kay (Bill) McPherson of Myrtle Beach, SC; Grandchildren – Natalie Parks, Annalee Parks, Abby Alford and Jackson Alford; Sister-in-law – Patsy (Jerry) Selby of Crossville; Brothers-in-law – Johnny Cody and Johnny Sherrell both of Sparta; Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends from 5pm until time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the White County Public Library. Donations can be made by contacting the funeral home.

Services for James Richard Marsh, age 68 of Doyle, will begin at 2:00PM Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Thurman Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Nathan Hawkins and Bro. Gene Williams. Internment at Doyle Cemetery. James met his Savior on April 10, 2019 at Emory St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Sparta to Hershal and Geneva Marsh, Richard lived in several states and made many friends before coming back to Tennessee to raise his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, James Richard Marsh II, infant child, and mother of his two eldest sons, Kathy Wolfe. Richard leaves behind his loving wife, Louise Marsh, five children, Brent, Corey, and Cody Marsh, Tyler (Shania) Miller, and Hanna (Tyler) Dolin, all of Doyle, three granddaughters that were the light of his life, Ayva and Chloe Miller, and Gracie Dolin, all of Doyle. Also surviving are his siblings David (Star) Marsh, Patricia (Shelby) Miller, both of Doyle, and Deloris Smith of Chattanooga. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Richard loved the Lord more than anything else and that was evident to all who knew him. He has left behind a legacy for us to follow to live graciously and love strong. Richard was such a giving man, and even through his death, he continues giving by the gift of organ donation to save lives. Family will accept visitors on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the chapel of Thurman Funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby L. Trisdale, 89, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. She passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 2, 1929, in Jackson County to the late Quarles Head and Mae Head. She was an LPN, and a member of the Dudneys Hill Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Louise Spivey; 1 Brother: Curtis J. Head; 2 Grandchildren: Chris Martin and Julie Martin; and the Father of her Children: Gene Trisdale. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Jenny (Danny) Martin of Gainesboro, and Kay (Rob) Jordan of Gainesboro; 2 Grandchildren: Dalton and Cory; 4 Brothers: Joe Head, Edis Head, Dwayne Head, and Willard Head, all of Gainesboro; and 1 Sister: Judy McDowell of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 P.M. – 9 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by contacting the funeral home.

Graveside Memorial Services For Leva Blaylock, Age 95 Of Monterey, Tennesseee Will Be Conducted At 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 20, 2019 At The Honey Springs Cemetery In Crawford, TN. Rev. Bobby Floyd And Rev. Danny Allen Will Officiate. Mrs. Blaylock Passed Away On Friday, April 12, 2019, At The Standing Stone Care And Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Blaylock Was Born On October 25, 1923, In Crawford, Tennessee, To The Late Dewey And Myrtle Pierce Hargis. Mrs. Blaylock Was A Homemaker And Factory Worker. She Had Worked With Monterey Hosiery Mill, Ely And Walker And Appalachian. She Was Of The Baptist Faith.
