Ms. Mary Reba Pigg, age 89 of Cookeville, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Ms. Rosemary K. Brown, age 88 of Cookeville, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. She was born July 4, 1934 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of the late Gabril and Helen Gordon Kennemer.

Mr. Tommy Manier, age 74 of Cookeville, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. The family has chosen cremation, with no services at this time. Mr. Manier was born June 24, 1948, in Cookeville, the son of the late Willie Douglas and Fannie Mae Manier. He was a logger. Survivors include two daughters, Kristi Lafever of Baxter, and Tara (Timmy) Rodgers of Bloomington Springs.

Aaron Landon Ramsey, the eight-week-old son of Landon Ramsey and MaKayla Ferrell Ramsey of Cookeville, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022. The family chose cremation, and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Aaron was born Sunday, September 25, 2022, in Knoxville. In addition to his parents, survivors include a sister, Lydia Lou Ramsey; maternal grandparents, Marshall and Beverly Ferrell; paternal grandparents, Troy and Rosa Ramsey.

Mr. Kevin Lynn Allison, age 57 of Sparta, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022. Mr. Allison chose cremation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born July 8, 1965, in Sparta, the son of  Gerald Lee Allison, Sr. and Cynthia Kaye Allison. In addition to his parents, survivors include three sisters, Gina (Dennis) Butler, Dana (Terry Wayne) Vinson, and Anissa Allison.

Mrs. Willie Bennis, age 69 of Bloomington Springs, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022. Mrs. Bennis chose cremation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born Saturday, August 1, 1953, in Baxter, the daughter of the late Earl and Vola McKee. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Bennis; two sons, Leonard Hancock and Tim Hancock.

Mr. Ricky Eugene Young, age 63 of Sparta, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville. The family chose cremation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born July 13, 1959, in Sparta, the son of the late Harold Eugene and Elsie Magdalene Graham Young. He was a heat and air technician. Survivors include a daughter, Kaylee Elaine Young.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Ferrell, age 85 of Byrdstown, will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 10:00 a.m., at Brown Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lovelady-Sims Cemetery. Mr. Ferrell passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was born November 23, 1936, in Byrdstown, the son of the late Joe B. and Martha Ellen (Pierce) Ferrell. He was a farmer and a member of Bloomington Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Scott) Davis and Teresa (Chad) Bowden. Visitation will be held Tuesday until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Terry Lynn Scott, age 80 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Mr. Scott passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at his home. He was born April 18, 1942 in Anderson, IN, the son of the late James and Mildred Hensley Scott. Survivors include two daughters, Starlena (John) Adams and Elaine Scott, both of Sparta; two sons, Stephen Scott of Indianapolis, IN, and Christopher Scott of Sparta. Visitation will be held Tuesday until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Tommy D. Brown, age 69 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elrod Cemetery.Mr. Brown passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, in Sparta. He was born August 17, 1953, the son of the late .Thomas Ray and Cora Lou Brown. Survivors include a sister, Carolyn (Claudie) Mabe; a brother, Jerry (Anita) Brown. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell L. Hopkins, age 91 of Gainesboro, will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 2:00 p.m., at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pharris Cemetery. Mrs. Hopkins passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at NHC Health Care and Rehab in Cookeville. She was born October 4, 1931, in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Charlie Crockett Frizzell and Ovie Lena Wheeler Frizzell. Mrs. Hopkins was a retired factory worker and a member of  McCoinsville Church of Christ. Survivors include three grandchildren, Oliver (Christy) Lynch and Dustin (Melina) Biggs, both of Gainesboro, and Randall (Kisa) Biggs of Rickman. Visitation will be held Tuesday until 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to Pharris Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mr. Dale Edgar Mathis, age 71 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 2:00 p.m., at Westview Baptist Church in Cookeville. Burial will follow in Thurman Mathis Cemetery. Mr. Mathis passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at his residence. He was born February 5, 1951, in Putnam County, the son of the late Thurman and Ginnie (Brown) Mathis. He worked as a roofer and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Dale was of the Baptist faith and attended Westview Baptist Church in Cookeville. Survivors include his wife, Ginny Mathis of Cookeville; three sons, Brent “T.C.” Mathis, Samuel Mathis, and Brent (Emily) Emery; a daughter, Nicole (Steve) Norris. Visitation will be held Tuesday until 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Local Veterans Honor Guard in his memory.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Gerald Glynn Hix, age 60 of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 4:00 p.m., at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Cookeville. Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. Mr. Hix passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at his residence. He  was born March 4, 1962, in Jackson County, the son of the late Elmer Lee Hix and Doris Estelene Harris Hix. He was a master carpenter by trade and specialized in cabinetry. Survivors include his wife, Dessa Hix of Cookeville; a son, Elijah Glynn Hix of Cookeville; a daughter, Camille Grace Hix of Cookeville. Visitation will be held Tuesday until 7:00 p.m., at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Grand Canyon Conservancy, P.O. Box 399, Grand Canyon, AZ, 86023.

A memorial gathering for Ms. Lavenia Cass, age 77 of Clearwater, FL and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Friday, November 25, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Ms. Cass passed away October 16, 2022, in Clearwater, FL. She was born July 16, 1944 ,in Cookeville, the daughter of the late Sarah Fannie Randolph Cass and James Earl Cass. She graduated from Cookeville High school and attended Tennessee Technological Institute. Lavenia had a long career with Delta Airlines. Survivors include three sisters, Betty Sliger, Carolyn (Gene) Whitley, and Judy (Mike) Estes; a brother, Jerry (Connie) Cass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A Memorial Mass for Mr. John Robert “Bob” Bruzda, age 79 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, November 25, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life gathering for Mr. Bruzda will be held Saturday, November 26, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Bruzda passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at his home. He was born Saturday, March 13, 1943, in Uniontown, PA, the son of the late John and Zelda Kathleen (Dodrill) Bruzda. Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a loyal member of The Knights of Columbus at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He belonged to the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Anna Louise (Albani) Bruzda; a daughter, Kimberly Ann (John) Mitchell; a son, Ronald Joseph Bruzda.

Memorial graveside services for Mr. Charles Lex Dyer, age 80 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, November 26, at 11:00 a.m., at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Dyer passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at his home. He was born January 6, 1942, in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Joseph Franklin Dyer, Sr. and Nell Gentry Dyer. Charles was a graduate of Putnam County High School and a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and retired from Dacco of Cookeville. Survivors include his wife, Emogene Gibson Dyer of Cookeville; two sons, Christopher (Faye) Dyer of Lakeland, FL and Eric Dyer of Cookeville; a stepdaughter, Melissa (Eddie) Glover of Cookeville; a stepson, Glen (Belinda) Lewis of Baxter. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Maxine Garrett Nivens, age 93 of Murfreesboro and formerly of Allons, will be held Saturday, November 26, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Mrs. Nivens passed away November 15, 2022, in Murfreesboro. She was born December 1, 1928, at home in Allons, the daughter of the late Pascal and Ove Mae Buck Garrett. She was a 1946 graduate of Livingston Academy, worked alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife, and served as an interpreter for the deaf and as a piano teacher with many students from Overton, Clay, and Putnam counties.  Survivors include three sons, Gene (Diana) Nivens of Oak Ridge, Gary (Donna) Nivens of Johnson City, and Jim (Rachel) Nivens of Black Lick, OH; three daughters, Janie (Richard) Cook of Allons, Jacquie (Donald) Cartledge of Lakeland, FL, and Velvet (Edward) York of Murfreesboro. Visitation will be held Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services or Mr. Bobby Randy Collins, age 60 of Byrdstown, will be held Saturday, November 26, at 1:00 p.m., at Upward Church. Burial will follow in Faix Cemetery. Mr. Collins passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022. He was born December 28, 1961, in Burkesville, KY, the son of the late Bobby Ransom Collins and Frances Katherine (Rich) Collins Graham. He was a former carpenter and janitor, and attended Upward Church, where he served as an elder. Survivors include three daughters,  Lisa Anderson, Chelsea (Cody) Muse, and Amelia (Hansel) Cooper; a son, Christopher (Lori) Collins. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial service for Ms. Ima Dean Burgess Brown Sullivan, age 96 of Livingston, will be held Saturday, November 26, at 3:00 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Livingston. Ms. Sullivan passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at Overton County Health and Rehab. She was born April 26, 1926, in Allons, the daughter of the late Will and Essie Holman Burgess. She was a longtime employee of Lady Ann Hospital and also worked as a private caregiver for many years. Ms. Sullivan was of the Jehovah Witness faith. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Rose Norris. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Livingston or to a charitable organization of your choice.

Memorial services for Mr. Carsie J. Baldwin, age 79 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, November 26, at 4:00 p.m., at the Dyer chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Baldwin passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at his home. He was born September 4, 1943 in Double Springs, the son of the late James and Grace Philpot Baldwin. Carsie was a retired mechanic. Survivors include a daughter, Jayme (Keith) Dyer of Nashville; a son, Carsey L. (Lindsey) Baldwin of Smyrna; two stepdaughters, Kathy (Billy) Dyer of Cookeville and Angie (Shane) Ashton of Alexandria, IN; a stepson, Brian Harris of Sparta. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations toward funeral expenses.

Funeral services for Ms. Jennie Cordelia McGlohn, age 101 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, November 29, at 11:00 a.m., at the Baxter chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Paris, TN, on Wednesday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. McGlohn passed away January 2, 1921. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial service for Mr. Rondal “Buddy” D. Reed, age 70 of the Hardy’s Chapel community, will be held Saturday, December 3, at 2:00 p.m., at Keeping the Faith Church. Mr. Reed passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born July 4, 1952, in Dayton, OH, the son of the late Dana Ree and Isabelle Clouse. Buddy served in the National Guard and worked as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Edmonds Reed of the Hardy’s Chapel community; a son, Bud (Connie) Reed of the Hardy’s Chapel community; two daughters, Julia (Jamie) King and Angel (Daniel) Bowman, both of the Hardy’s Chapel community. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 3, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
