Obituaries For Monday, August 15

Mrs. Eva Ruth Allen, age 82 of Cookeville, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Her wishes of cremation and no services are being honored. Mrs. Allen was born November 6, 1939, in Putnam County. Survivors include three children, Clyde (Pat) Allen, Carol (Max) Carter, and Shane (Karen) Allen, all of Cookeville.

Mr. Lonnie Robert Cannon, age 71 of Sparta, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at his home. No services are scheduled at this time. Mr. Cannon was born July 7, 1951, in Sparta, the son of the late Eston and Helen Hensley Cannon.

Funeral services for Mr. Willard Norris Kelley, age 91 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, August 16, at 12:00 p.m., in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cherry Creek Church of Christ Cemetery. Mr. Kelley passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Sunday, July 5, 1931, in Scottsburg, IN, the son of the late Charles Bonford and Iva Ann (Broady) Kelley. Willard held full time ministries with the Treaty Church of Christ in Wabash, IN, Forest Lake Church of Christ in Forest Lake, MN, and for 30 years at Central Christian Church in Rockford, IL. He also led an interim ministry with the Christian Church in Rochelle, IL, supply preaching at Hatcher Hall Christian Church in Monroe and First Christian Church in Byrdstown. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Janice Kelley; two children, Linda Berg and Laura (David) Griner. In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Loreen Wolfe. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vida Nueva Ministries, Inc./ Rio Bravo, P.O. Funeral services for Mrs. Pamela Sue Stover, age 67 of Monroe, will be held Tuesday, August 16, at 12:00 p.m., in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sells Cemetery. Mrs. Stover passed from away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Livingston Regional Hospital.  She was born June 21, 1955, in Overton County, the daughter of the late Carl and Valarie McDonald Farmer. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ray Stover of Monroe; a daughter Jennifer (Greg) McDonald of Cookeville. Visitation will be held Monday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends in memory of Mr. Jimmy Edward Wilson, age 77 of Livingston, will be held Tuesday, August 16, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Livingston Regional Hospital.  He was born August 24, 1944, in Overton County, the son of the late Claude and Anna Mae Wilson. Jimmy loved working on cars as a mechanic. Survivors include a daughter, Juanita (Chad) Huffer of Finksburg, MD.

A memorial service for Mr. Samuel Doyle “Sammy” Key, age 65 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, August 16, at 6:00 p.m., at Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Key passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born August 15, 1956, the son of the late Sam and Louis Key. Sammy was a graduate of Cookeville High School, and worked as a truck driver. Survivors include a daughter, Autumn (Chuck) Betts of Chattanooga; his life partner of 30 years, Patty Masters; two stepdaughters, Hillary (Rich) Froning and Ali (Austin) Auld. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Graveside services for Mrs. Vera Gene Poundstone, age 89 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Poundstone passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. She was born Saturday, July 8, 1933, in Vernon, TX,  the daughter of the late Girlie Gladys (Aldridge) Bryant. Survivors include four children, James Poundstone, Peggy McCullagh, Patty Poundstone, and Paula Poundstone. In addition to her mother, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Poundstone.

Memorial services for Mr. Joseph “Joe” Peter Giaculli, age 65 of Baxter, will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Giaculli passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Sunday, January 13, 1957, in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Paul Giaculli and Ruth (Kinglands) Giaculli Lewis. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Gloretta Chism-Giaculli; three children, Erica Hughes, Samantha Chism – Giaculli (Ethan Hall), and Joey Giaculli. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mr. Tim Jones, age 66 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday, August 17, at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Jones passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 7, 1956, in Wartburg, the son of the late Hershel and Beulah Pennington Jones. He worked for the Department of Corrections in Pikeville for over 20 years. Survivors include a son, Kevin (Augusta) Jones of Sparta. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Graveside services for Mrs. Margaret “Kay” Thrasher, age 85 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, August 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Collier Cemetery in Bledsoe County. Mrs. Thrasher passed away Sunday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Graveside services for Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Jones, age 86 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, August 18, at 2:00 p.m., at James Bohannon Cemetery. Mrs. Jones passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at her home. She was born Saturday, November 18, 1935, in Hoffman, NC, the daughter of the late Newell and Emma (Seago) Hutchings. She was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Janette (Don) Gentry of Cookeville; a son, Donnie (Margie) Jones of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Jones; a son, Mark Jones.

Celebration of Life services for Mr. Bill Davis, age 84 of Sparta, will be held Thursday, August 18, at 7:00 p.m., at Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church. Mr. Davis passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service, at the church.
