Obituaries For Wednesday, February 1

David “Dave” Lawrence Kuenzli, 72 of Crossville, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Hospice of Cumberland County. Dave chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held later.

Graveside Services for Peggy Sharlene Graham, age 69 of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 2 at Old Zion Cemetery located in Sparta with Pastor Tim Miles officiating. Mrs. Graham passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Guy M. Graham. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Funeral services for Daniel N. Lynch, age 95 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday February 2 in the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. He passed away Friday January 27, 2023 at NHC of Sparta. His family will receive friends Thursday from 12 p.m. until service time.

Funeral services for Stanley “Stan” Harold Flatt, age 58 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday February 3 at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery in Algood. Stan died Monday January 30, 2023, at his home. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services Gary Cross, age 77 of Cookeville, will be held on Friday, February 3 at 12:30 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper Cemetery in Jackson County. Mr. Cross passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his residence. He was an electrician, and a member of the Bagdad Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Huffines Cross; and children, James Gerald Cross, Kenny Cross and Lorrie (Jayson) Lee. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Eva M. Harris, age 92 of Rickman, will be conducted 2 PM Friday, February 3rd from Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where the body will lie in repose from 12 noon until the time of services. Mrs. Harris passed from this life on Tuesday evening, January 31, 2023, from Livingston Regional Hospital. Eva loved her family, tending to her flower garden, and staying busy. She enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing, and traveling whenever she could. Mrs. Harris leaves behind her daughters, Wanda (Wayne) Krantz and husband Wayne of the Dry Hollow Community and Cynthia Harris of Rickman; also her son, Gary (Pam) Harris of Rickman. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Speck Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Willard Head, age 83 of Jackson County, will be held on Friday, February 3 at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. Mr. Head passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer, and night watchman at the Jackson County Highway Department. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his Special Family, Paul and Amanda Harris, Rachel, Rebecca, and James Harris all of Gainesboro. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Jimmy Curtis Tollett, age 68 of Cookeville, will be held, Friday, February 3, at 5:00 p.m., in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Tollett passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Jimmy proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Charlene (Finch) Tollett; five children, David (Brandy) Tollet, Christopher (Stephanie) Tollett, Jesse (Corrine) Tollet, Marcie (James) Parsons, and Rhoda (Allan) Murphy. Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jesse James Smith, age 83 of the Independence Community, will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, February 4 from the Independence Community Church. Burial to follow in the Hatcher Hall Cemetery, with Military Honors provided at Graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Smith passed from this life on Tuesday morning, January 31, 2023 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. He was a 1959 graduate of Livingston Academy. Jesse served his military services obligation in the Army. He became a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, so that he could make an extra 50 cents on his paycheck. He was already saving for his marriage and future; he was always prepared. The family would like to extend a Special Thanks to Dad’s Silver Angels caregiver, Destiny Wilborn. She enriched his last years with care and love. Jesse leaves behind his son, Jeff Smith of the Independence Community; daughters, Sherry (Debrina Dills) Smith of Nashville,and Kristy (Steve) Armes of Coalfield. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life gathering for Ms. Pamela (Flatt) Phillips, age 85 of Largo, FL and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, February 4, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Ms. Phillips passed away, Friday, January 6, 2023.
