Warren Schools Accepting Bids For Proposed School Health Clinic

Warren County School System accepting bids for a school health clinic to be located at the central office.

Director of Schools Grant Swallows said rising insurance and health services costs have posed financial burdens to employees. He said other schools in the area have done similar services in the past.

“Really it’s something that we think will be really good for our employees,” Swallows said.”It’s something that’s supposed to be efficient as well as cost-effective for the employee. So we’re excited about the prospect.”

Swallows said it is important for all employees, but especially for the hourly employees who struggle with insurance costs. He said having a free clinic will be a huge opportunity for the employee and their immediate family.

“So it’s real cost savings I think,” Swallows said.”And then for your certified employees, maybe they might be able to select a lower insurance to have needs taken care of at our clinic (…) I’m pretty optimistic that this will be a good thing for us, but at the same time, we’re going to have wait and see how the bid process plays out and see how we go from here.”

Swallows said the budget numbers will be based on the bid process. He said they hope to have the clinic up and running by next school year.
