Tennessee Tech Hosts Campus Visit Exclusively For Local Prospective Students

Tennessee Tech will host its third Tech After Dark campus tour this Thursday, November 4th.

Director of Admissions Steve Keller said that Tech After Dark provides an exclusive opportunity for local students to get a different perspective of Tech from what they already know.

“We have students from all over the world who come to Tennesee Tech,” Keller said. “And many times when we do on-campus visits or more general campus events the content for those events is for a more general population but this time we get to speak to Upper Cumberland students about being a golden eagle so we get to be very specific with the information that we share with students and with their families.”

Keller said that students will get a chance to see parts of campus that aren’t offered in regular tours, as well as hear about experiences of current students who grew up in the Upper Cumberland. He said that the primary benefit of Tech After Dark is that students and families will get to see what life is like as a Golden Eagle who is from the community.

“We realized that there are many students in this local community who have grown up in the shadow as it were of Tennessee Tech their entire lives,” Keller said. “And they feel as if they are already quite familiar with the university. So we wanted to provide them with a special experience, something that is not available for any other prospective students, and give them access to labs, to demonstrations, to facilities and let them see parts of campus that even though they’ve lived right next to Tennessee Tech their whole lives, they’re going to see something new, something exciting.”

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Bell Hall Auditorium. Those interested can register online.
