Van Buren County Passes Budget And Tax Rate, Mayor Optimistic

Van Buren County has approved its final budget and property tax rate for the fiscal year. Mayor Greg Wilson said the comptroller’s office gave a tax rate recommendation of $2.3992, which the county rounded to $2.40. Wilson said this was the rate necessary to maintain current revenues. Spencer’s First Meat Processing Plant Opening June 14

The A&H Custom Meat and Processing plant will open on June 14 in Spencer becoming the first facility in the county. Van Buren County Getting Two New Commissioners From Population Increase

Two new Commissioner seats will be added in Van Buren County, bringing the future total to 12.
