The Fentress County Highway Department is pursuing a federal grant for repaving nearly eight miles of road. A compromise was reached between Fentress County Commissioners and Highway Department on a road improvement loan. County Executive Jimmy Johnson said $800,000 was approved by the commission. Majority of the state roads in the Upper Cumberland are clear with some slick spots, but some primary roads and most secondary roads remain treacherous.
