Clay County School Board approved bids Thursday night for two plumbing renovation projects at Celina K-8 and Hermitage Spring School. NWS: F-1 Tornado Caused Damage In Hermitage Springs

National Weather Service Meteorologists found a F-1 tornado touched down in Clay County Saturday morning. During a Monday assessment, meteorologists found the tornado stayed on the ground nearly six miles with a width of 75 yards. The storm uprooted trees in Hermitage Springs just south of Highway 52. Clay Schools Set Start Date For All Three Summer Learning Camps

All three summer learning camps in Clay County have their start dates set for 2022. Hermitage Springs VFD And Rescue Hosts Fundraising Car Cruise

The Hermitage Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue is holding an 83 mile cruise to help raise money. Chief Jeff Fleming said this type of fundraiser is a first and felt trying this car cruise would be safe after COVID cancelled all 2020 fundraising. Impending rain has forced Clay County’s 150th anniversary to move locations. Clay County High School Principal Derick Upchurch is stepping down. School Director Matt Eldridge said Upchurch held the position for over three years.
