August sales tax revenue in Putnam County came in Tuesday 12 percent over the same month last year. The County saw the highest increase by about 23 percent. Putnam County construction settled down to a more normal pace in August. The county saw 26 permits for over $4 million in construction costs, with 12 of those being new single family homes. The Cookeville Gas Department will start testing automated gas meter readers for select communities in August.
