Smith Found With Revolver, 7 Grams Of Meth

A Cookeville man faces multiple charges for possessing methamphetamine and a firearm Wednesday.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office charged 22-year-old Brandon Kenneth Smith with manufacturing meth and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Deputies arrested Smith following a traffic stop at a store on North Dixie Avenue and Jere Whitson Road. Arrest warrants indicate deputies recognized Smith in the vehicle and recalled active warrants against him.

A consensual search of the vehicle revealed a set of digital scales, long-barreled revolver and approximately seven grams of meth. According to the arrest warrant, Smith admitted that the scales, firearm, and substance all belonged to him.

Smith remains behind bars under $26,000 bond and will appear in court April 22.
