A Silver Point man died Monday afternoon in a two-car accident along Highway 56 in Dekalb County.
53-year-old Mickey James died when the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle traveling southbound. The car driven by 35-year-old Kevin Boersma crossed the center line in a curve and hit James’ vehicle.
James died on the scene. According to preliminary reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, he was not wearing a seatbelt. Boersma suffered injuries in the accident.
The accident happened just after 3pm Monday.
Charges are pending.
