Band member Alec Strickland said several of the members come from Cookeville. He said after the band has spent eight years together in Los Angeles, they were inspired to write about the nostalgia and the happiness you get returning to a familiar place.
“There’s just such a cool thing about being from a small town,” Strickland said. “Where it’s like the world is all so new and you bring someone to your town and maybe they didn’t get it before but they get to see all the cool sights and the smiling friendly faces.”
Strickland said they wanted how their love for the state and for the people who live here.
Strickland said the band’s sound is based mostly on guitar. He said they have a variety of songs, that have a wide range of moods.
