Obituaries For Monday, July 16

Mr. Ronald Wilson, age 58 of Baxter, died Friday, July 13th at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. A private family memorial service will be held at at later date.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cleoria Christene Henry, age 91 of Sparta, will be held at 11am Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Elmore Judd and Raymond Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Henry passed from this life on Friday, July 13, 2018, at her residence. Born Sunday, October 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Arrie Elrod Whiteaker. Mrs Henry was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Johnson Baptist Church. Surviving family members include the following: daughter – Amanda Jones and husband Bruce of Sparta; daughter – Geraldine Harris and husband Donald of Monterey; son – Raymond Henry and wife Carolyn of Monterey; grandchildren- Kristi Jones of Sparta, Nikki Jones of Cookeville, Kyle Jones of Cookeville, Lorna Matheney (Robert) of Monterey, Michael Harris of Monterey, Jeremy Henry of Cookeville and Jeffrey Henry. great grandchildren – Daniel Matheney of VA, Austin Harris of Cookeville, and Jessica Harris of Cookeville; great great grandchild – Katie Matheney of VA; sister – Jane Bumbalough of Sparta; three brothers – Herbert Whiteaker of NC, Kenneth Whiteaker of GA and Beecher Whiteaker of Sparta. In addition to her parents, Mrs Henry was preceded in death by her husband, JT Henry and a daughter, Jo Anna Henry. The family will receive friends Monday, July 16th from 5pm until 8pm and again Tuesday from 9am until time of the service at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mr. John Houston Mullins, age 95 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Mullins, age 95 of Sparta, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Mullins was born August 27, 1922 in Alpine, Tennessee of Overton County to the late Lafayette Ridley & Ida Deane McDonald Mullins. He was a retired dairy farmer and proudly served his nation in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Mullins’ passion in life was his family, and the importance of their heritage and where they came from. He also was an admirer and restorer of antique cars, making many trips with his close group of antique car friends. An avid traveler, Mr. Mullins had visited every state except Alaska, traveling and camping the entire lower 48 alongside his wife. They were frequent visitors of the Cheyenne Rodeo, where he had a reserved camping spot waiting on them. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers Ray Mullins, Howard Mullins, Cecil Mullins; sisters Florence York and Marie Copeland. Surviving family include his wife of 70 years Enzena McCulley Mullins of Sparta; Daughter: Joanne (Tony) Pogue of Columbia, TN; Son: John (Brenda) Mullins of Cookeville; Daughter: Janette Myers of Gallatin; Daughter: Betty (Jim) Thurman of Tullahoma; Granddaughter: Christie Pogue of Franklin; Grandson: Matt (Allison) Thurman of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Thomas McCulley will officiate.

Funeral services for Todd Edward Sleppy, age 46, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Davis officiating. Todd has chosen cremation following the Service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home. Todd Edward Sleppy passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie D. “Bill” Bilbrey, age 81, of Livingston will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 18, at the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Robert Boles will officiate. Burial will be in the Wirmingham Cemetery. Mr. Bilbrey passed peacefully from this life on Sunday morning July 15, 2018 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Overton county on June 8,1937 to late Floyd Bilbrey and Ethelene Parrish Bilbrey. He was a member of Free Communion Church of Christ and Swallows Chapel Church of Christ. He loved his wife Rudy and children and grandchildren. Bill enjoyed fishing and enjoyed training horses. He trained a World Champion Walking Horse “pushover Majic Lady”. Bill leaves his wife Ruby Parrott Bilbrey of Livingston; daughter, Carol Ann Rudd & husband Ronnie ; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Reeder & wife Afton, Kandace Ward & husband Austin, and Elizabeth Rudd; 2 great grandchildren Kaysen Ward and Mayin Reeder; brother, Herman Bilbrey of Livingston, TN; sister, Vestal Prichard of Livingston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Joe Bilbrey, AB Bilbrey, and Robert Bilbrey and sisters Roxie White and Jewel Smith, and Geneva Bilbrey. The family will welcome friends from 5 to 9 at the Speck Funeral Home on Tuesday July 17, and from 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday until time of service at 10:00.
