Putnam Co. Receives Clean Audit For Third Year In A Row

Putnam County has received a clean audit for the third year in a row.

The State Comptroller’s Annual Financial Report audit for fiscal year 2018-2019 found no adverse findings.

County Mayor Randy Porter said it’s a historical feat. Before 2017, Putnam County had never received a clean audit report from the state.

“We are very pleased and excited to receive a clean audit report for the 3rd year in a row,” Porter said. “After taking office in 2014, one of my primary goals was to see us correct previous audit findings the county was seeing year after year. Working with the new and existing elected officials, department heads and county employees, we worked together to eliminate those repeat audit findings.”

Only 12 counties received clean audits in 2017 and 13 the year after.

The State Comptroller has released 35 county audit reports for fiscal year 2018-2019. Only 6 counties have received clean audits so far.
