Putnam Co. Offering On Site Vaccine Clinics For Businesses

The Putnam County Health Department is now offering free on site vaccination clinics for businesses.

Mayor Randy Porter said business owners can call (931)-646-INFO to have health workers come on location to vaccinate employees.

“Employees that work those hours that the vaccination sites are open and can’t come, we go to them, do to 200 or 300 people at one time,” Porter said. “It is working out really good so far, and we’re hoping more businesses will take advantage of it.”

Porter said with 88 percent of the 70 and older population vaccinated, it is time to focus on everyone else. Porter said plenty of vaccines are available, and businesses large and small can take advantage.

“We want to do everything we can to get as many people vaccinated, and if this is a part that makes people more comfortable to do it, it is what we are all about,” Porter said.

Vaccine efforts in Putnam County are in the top 15 statewide with about 42,000 shots administered Porter said. With the current vaccine availability, residents do not need to make appointments anymore.

“Don’t even have to register now,” Porter said. “You can just go out to the fairgrounds Monday through Friday 9-3 except on Thursday. They are open a little later til 6:30-7 on Thursday’s,” Porter said. “All you got to do is drive up.”
